Recognition
of Prior Learning..... What
is Recognition? TAFE NSW recognises the skills and knowledge you have
gained through previous studies, work and life experiences. If you have formal
qualifications from a TAFE, university, school or a Registered Training Organisation
(RTO) in Australia, containing content that is included in the qualification you
want to study, you may apply for recognition. If you hold qualifications gained
overseas, TAFE NSW will carefully consider them during the recognition process. If
you have been working in an occupation which is relevant to a qualification you
are interested in you have probably developed skills and knowledge which may be
assessed for recognition. You may also have developed valuable skills by working
for a community, a voluntary organisation or through other life experiences such
as hobbies and sport and leisure activities, which may also be considered for
recognition.
How
much recognition? Based on the skills and knowledge that you have gained
you may apply for up to and including 100% of a qualification or course.
Benefits of recognition You will benefit from this process because:
- You
might spend less time studying
- It
might cost less to gain qualifications
- You
will not relearn what you already know
Fast
Track Recognition Service For a fee you may undertake a Fast Track
Recognition Service allowing you to gain a qualification faster and without
attending class. This fast track service is designed for those of you who want
to get recognised immediately. Understanding
